Sandler Awardee Jasmine Hall travels to Chicago
Recipient of The 2023-2024 Mark H. Sandler Endowed Art History Experience Award, Jasmine Hall traveled over the summer to Chicago to conduct research for an independent project. Intent on pursuing graduate school for a career as a museum curator, Jasmine understands the importance of cultivating her research skills in the field. Her current work attempts to connect Edward Hopper’s famed painting Nighthawks, which she was able to view at the Art Institute of Chicago, with the 1930s rise in neorealism in American film. Her on-site visual analysis and access the Art Institute's extensive archives afforded an unparalleled experience. Jasmine is double majoring American Studies and Studio Art with a minor in Art History & Archaeology.
